Future Trips

The focus of our adventures into the field is to introduce you to places where soldiers from Northern West Virginia and Southeast Ohio served in Revolutionary and Civil War campaigns. 

All proceeds are used to fund our historical markers projects.

Additional information, including a detailed itinerary, official visitor's information listing attractions and entertainment options for free time in the City of Charleston, recommended dining venues, suggested reading and viewing list, menus, and updates will be forthcoming following receipt of your registration.

 

 

Registration fee is $ 600.00 for shared double-occupancy; or $ 775.00 for private accommodations.  See "Invitation" or "Registration Form" for a complete description of attractions and services included.

Fall 2021 South Carolina and Revolutionary City Field Trip

Trip Details

Complete details and a full itinerary for th​e Fall field trip are still being discussed and finalized. The official dates for this trip are Wednesday November 3 through Saturday November 6, 2021 and a rough draft of the itinerary is listed below. 

Itinerary

Day 1: Travel from Marietta/Parkersburg to Camden SC
-Southern Campaign of the American Revolution Museum
-Historic Camden and Kershaw-Cornwallis Mansion Tour
-Battle of Hobkirk's Hill
-Battle of Camden
-General Sherman's March through the Carolinas

-Catered Evening Meal at McCaa's Tavern

Day 2:  Travel from Camden to Charleston SC
-HL Hunley Exhibit and Tour
-Boone Hall Plantation and Gullah Luncheon
-Breach Inlet, Sullivan's Island and Fort Moultrie
-Free time for dining and to explore Charleston's Historic District

Day 3: Travel from Charleston to Spartanburg SC

-Free time to explore Charleston's history and lore at the Museum Mile, join a guided walking tour, visit historic homes, or pursue countless other entertainment opportunities.

-Charleston Harbor Tour and Fort Sumter Tour

Day 4: Travel from Spartanburg SC to Marietta/Parkersburg

-Cowpens National Battlefield, Gaffney SC

-Flag Ceremony at Historic National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC
