Retreat from Gettysburg

 

The trip registration fee provides for:

  • Round trip charter bus transportation with charging stations and wi-fi.  

  • Three nights accommodations at Best Western Gettysburg "located on the battlefield" and within walking distance of local shops and dining.

  • Admission to Gettysburg National Military Park and Visitor Center and other attractions.

  • Thursday and Friday:  Guided Tour and interpretation of Gettysburg battlefield and village sites to relive the accounts of citizens and local soldiers who fought here by Scott Britton, Executive Director, The Castle Historic House Museum.

  • Saturday and Sunday: Guided Tour and interpretation of the retreat routes of Lee's Army of Northern Virginia, the Confederate wagon train of wounded, and Union Army cavalry pursuit, from Gettysburg through the scenic Catoctin Mountains to the Potomac River    

  • Field trip registration fee, with the exception of complimentary breakfasts served at our hotel, does not include the cost of meals and gratuities (other than the bus driver's gratuity).  

  • More information including a detailed itinerary, recommended reading and viewing list, suggested dining venues, and a "final update" will be forthcoming following registration.
